NEWS MAY 2020
Dear friends and family,
Thanks to your donations and good wishes, I have been a large contributor to the hot food distribution project spearheaded by Rosario Castillo of Mariscos MiJacalito, Alexander Magnum, and Salvador Ochoa. There are no words to describe briefly what an immensely rewarding experience this has been. We have distributed 6,300 hot lunches to hungry needy people. These high caloric tasty meals were often accompanied by bags of "despensas", or food staples. On a visit to the Kiumiai village of San Jose de la Zorra, we provided food staples to 75 families as well as large bags of produce. On that day, we shared our 200 hot lunches with the village people.
As mentioned in my last letter I started a propane distribution program. Your donations helped purchase 200 "minas" - 10 liter tanks of propane. A tank costs 200 pesos - less than 410 delivery included.
As anticipated, the crisis is not over. I am continuing with a commitment of 3 more weeks for the food and indefinitely for the gas.
I continue to seek donations either to my Paypal firstname.lastname@example.org
or care of the 501(c) 3 www.IAICF.org
A fundraiser is in the planning stages: a virtual auction on AUCTRIA.com
entitled FOR THE LOVE OF GAS is scheduled for June 13 from noon to 2PM and hosted by myself, Kathey Fatica and Tami Yourell. We are accepting donations of items (think out of the box, please) until May 23.
With wholehearted thanks,
